We provide automotive diagnostics and ADAS calibration services

As our vehicles get more and more advanced, so does the complexity of the systems and sensors that operate them. Today’s vehicles are more of a computer on wheels when compared to vehicles even just 5 or 10 years ago, and they are loaded with sensitive equipment that can easily be knocked out of adjustment if they are in an accident or hit hard. Most vehicle manufacturers state that these systems be checked and recalibrated any time it is involved in an accident or certain parts are removed and installed.

What is ADAS?

Our specialty is with vehicle ADAS, or Advanced Driver Assistance System.

This incorporates most of your vehicles safety systems, such as AEB (Automatic Emergency Braking) the part of your car that automatically brakes if the car in front of you stops suddenly or if someone steps out into the street in front of you, BSM (Blind Spot Monitoring) the part of your car that watches for vehicles behind and or beside you where you can’t see and gives a warning if you try to change lanes into them, ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) which matches the speed of your vehicle to that of the one in front of you so you don’t have to worry about adjusting your speed in traffic, LKA (Lane Keep Assist) which notifies you if you are drifting out of your lane. There are many more features associated with ADAS and not all vehicles have all of them, but if you are interested in learning more about these systems we have a FAQ that you can check out.

If any of the sensors associated with these systems are knockout of alignment by even a small amount it can cause disastrous results through either missing an object or vehicle or sensing something that is not really in the way.

Why is this so important?

With vehicles traveling faster than ever, and with more people on and around the road than ever before, we are relying more and more on technology to make our lives easier and keep us safer. The National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has been mandating that new vehicles be manufactured with ADAS features to help improve safety, but this technology is advancing so quickly that repairers are having a difficult time keeping up and the space required for many of these calibrations more than most traditional repair shops have available.

These rapid and recent developments in safety technology have left repairers and insurance providers unaware of how these sensitive systems are required to be addressed and, as a result the vast majority ADAS calibrations have been going unchecked and thus leaving the possibility that these vehicles may not operate as designed in an emergency situation.

How we help

We work directly with repair shops and individual customers to do diagnostics to identify vehicle information and underlying systems and sensor activity to understand the vehicles health and operational status. Once any repair work needed has been completed we then follow OEM calibration requirements and document the process so we can get all of the sensors and systems in sync and properly working and provided a certificate of calibration to the shop or vehicle owner
